LiveAccess is a project of the Youth Disability Advocacy Service currently funded by The City Of Mebourne. It is about promoting action and change so live music venues and festivals are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.
A project of the Youth Disability Advocacy Service, (YDAS) LiveAccess was developed in response to the barriers faced by people with disabilities in accessing local pubs, clubs, venues and events. Luckily, more awareness about access issues, as well as planning and provision for accessible events, will go a long way to ensuring that the doors of great music and entertainment are open to everyone. A place to find reliable information about accessibility at venues and festivals is also well overdue - Enter LiveAccess!
LiveAccess is working alongside young people with disabilities and the general community to create a much-needed on-line resource. We are working with venues to improve access, as well as holding regular accessible events for people with and without disabilities to enjoy local live music. Check out the rest of the site for reviews of venue accessibility, useful information for venue owners and people with disabilities and details of the next LiveAccess gig.
